I've lived next to De Dutch since August and was so hesitant to go in after reading some of the more "negative" reviews.
After being convinced to try their delicious food by a roommate, we went in at 10:30 in the morning and were greeted promptly by the staff.
Everyons seemed to be having a good time and our server was delightful.
The food was delicious and the portions were larger than expected. I'll definitely be back to have another amazing breakfast at De Dutch sometime soon. -

Service was good food I wasn't happy at all I went today for breakfast I had an omelette my eggs were burned no seasoning no flavour I could have made better eggs at home such a bad reputation for such a good company maybe the cooks need more training or the corporate should look at the quality of food being service I had breakfast in De Dutch in downtown it's very amazing no doubt maybe it's the location they don't care about customer

Ok, so normally I don't like to write up negative reviews- I prefer to address it at the business with the manager directly.
HOWEVER when your gluten free pannekoek is hard and cold , and the waitress (who was lovely by the way) tells you THE OWNER IS THE ONE COOKING AND SAYS HE DOESN'T THINK HE CAN MAKE IT ANY BETTER/DIFFERENTLY - and you've had the same thing there multiple times and have never had an issue...there's an issue.
..And then there was the straight up rotten strawberry on my boyfriend's plate.
Both my boyfriend and I used to work in the restaurant industry, he was a cook I was a server, & to us this was just straight up laziness.
Get it together guys. -

Dutch has traditionally implied going cheap. But, not if you are eating here.
We tried a variety of their offerings including their large diameter pancakes/crepes and more traditional eggs/bacon/toast/hashbrown platters. The pancakes, in particular, are very different from the typical buttermilk pancakes you will get at White Spot or IHOP. They are thinner, a bit more rubbery and a tad blander. But, slathered in fresh cream and fruit toppings and they become quite amazing. We ordered the "cheesecake" pancake which came with strawberry topping, cream cheese and whipping cream. The other more typical breakfast platters tasted little different than what you'd get at any number of places.
The service was very friendly, and everyone was called "dear" by our waitress. Sadly, the price of this place makes it uncompetitive against any number of other breakfast places such as Denny's, IHOP, White Spot and others.
Novelty pancakes worth a try.....once. -

Went here today, and waited over an hour for food. A family of 4 that came after our group of 5 sat down, got their food, ate, paid, and left before we got our food. No apologies, no compensation, won't be coming back.
